Every day a little step further.

I know, about this subject is so much written already. But it’s a subject were so much people talk about daily. I want to share my thoughts with you about it.

I believe in setting goals. I believe also that achieving your goals is not the most important thing. It is a cliche but true: the road towards your goals is much more important.

Write down your goals with the next questions in mind:

How do you get there?

What do you need for your route you want to make with your goals in mind? Do you need stuff, money or commitment for that goal?

Break your goals down in tiny parts.

And do every day a small step.

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.

— Tony Robbins

How do you get there?

Which way do you want to walk together with yourself? Or more important: how can you make your way towards your goal as nice as possible?

Write your ways down concrete and try to write steps down that you can do every day.

For instance I write almost every day in a journal to track progress. It is a sort of diary where you can write anything. It is your space for anything that it’s important to you.

What do you need for your route you want to make with your goals in mind?

Is it money? Or maybe it is a specific product. But more important is that you need a good mindset and be ready to have commitment to your goal.

Prepare yourself for hard work. If you want to reach anything you have to do something that isn’t always fun. It is bleed, sweat and tears.

Try to have that thought in your head. Focus on your progress and not the destination.

Break your goals down in tiny parts.

For instance one of my goals is to read every day a half hour. To make that goal easy for me I start reading a lot of articles on Medium and read a several pages in a book. My next step towards my goal is to read less on Medium and more pages in a book.

I want to indicate with that is that you need to make commitment to work on your goals.

Let it grow.

Big peaks don’t work. If you think you want to go to the gym five times a week, you need to start break it down in small steps. Start with one time a week the first 3 weeks. You need to start with the grow of your commitment. Peaks don’t work because you do it for a month and then you quite. I speak from experience.

Do every day a small step.

The most important thing of reaching your goals. Do it with small steps. I believe in: every day 1% better. If you look back on the past year in your journal and you see what your progress is, you can look back with a good feeling. You get so much more motivation to go further with your goals.

Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving toward your goals.

So we can draw our daily conclusion:

If you want to change your life you have to set goals. I have written earlier an article about this subject. In this article I have talked about how you get there. The road towards your goal instead of your endgoal. Enjoy your road towards your endgoal with the next questions and points in mind: how do you get there?, what do you need?, break your goals down in tiny parts and execute every day a small step.
